Directorate Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Nairobi Prisons recorded wins as the final leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation women’s National League entered Day -Two at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium, in Nairobi on Wednesday.
DCI dismissed Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-10) while Nairobi Prisons overwhelmed Kenya Army 3-0(25-23, 25-13, 26-24).
DCI coach Daniel Bor said they want to finish the regular season on high.
“We made a good account of ourselves in our first match against former champions Kenya Prisons on Tuesday and that shows our intentions. Again we had a good run today against KDF and we hope to wrap up the event with a win against Kenya Army. We are on course of qualifying for the play-offs and this time round we want our presence to be felt,” said Bor.
DCI surrendered a one set lead to succumb to Kenya Prisons 3-2(25-14, 21-25, 21-25, 25-17, 13-15).
At the end the three-day event that ends on Thursday, the top four teams will qualify for the play-offs scheduled for next month at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani indoor arena.
Defending champions Kenya Pipeline were not in action today and are set to play Vihiga County tomorrow, while KCB Women’s Volleyball Team earned two walk overs after their opponents Vihiga failed to honour the clash due to financial constraints, while Nairobi Water were a no show.
On Thursday, new comers Post Bank have a date with Nairobi Water, DCI play Kenya Army before Army will return to the courts with a match against Nairobi Water.
