Kenya Aquatics has successfully conducted the first ever East Africa Technical Swimming Officiating Clinic that was hosted in the country from April 12-14th at Nairobi Academy in Kenya’s capital city.

Speaking on Monday after the conclusion of the event, Bandari Swimming head coach Farkry Mansoor was excited and honoured to have participated saying that it goes along way in improving Swimming standards in Kenya.

” This is the first time we are having such an event. We have learnt a lot and hope to now translate the same back to our clubs, with the continuation of such endeavours, Kenya is soon destined to greatness,” praised Mansoor adding that local Swimming coaches in Kenya need to know the rules of officiating so that they can effectively develop young swimmers into future champions.

The Honorary Secretary of Africa Aquatics Technical Swimming Committee who is also member of World Aquatics Technical Swimming Committee Mr. Max Kanyerezi was in charge of the three day event and said that Kenya Aquatics has taken a huge step in hosting the massive event, challenging the federation to now create Swimming interests among young men and women as an alternative to popular sports like boxing and football within city and town ourskirts in Kenya.

The clinic saw 30 participants from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania being Spearheaded by Kenya Aquatics and supported by World Aquatics as the initiative now aims to elevate the officiating standards across the east Africa region.
