KENYANS HAVE TWO WEEKS TO REGISTER FOR ASCA COACHING COURSE, CONFIRMS OMARI

Kenyans have upto 15th June to register for the American Swimming Coaches Association ( ASCA) international coaching course that has now been slated for Dare salaam from 27-30th June 2024.

Confirming the news on Sunday, Omari Ali Omar who is the Chairperson of Kenya Aquatics Technical Committee said that for swimming standards to improve in the country, all stake holders that are directly involved with swimming have no choice but to equip themselves with knowledge and should take advantage of this four days training that is set to be under the leadership of the legendary Chad Onken who will be the instructor.

“We are thrilled to bring such a high-caliber event to East Africa. This course is a unique opportunity for our coaches, swimmers, and parents to gain invaluable insights from one of the best in the field. It’s a step forward in our mission to raise the standards of swimming in East Africa, ” said Omari adding that Interested stakeholders from Kenya should contact him by 15th June for more information concerning registration.

The ASCA International Course offers a variety of programs aimed at different aspects of swimming coaching and management with Key among these being the ASCA Level 2 & 3 Coaching Course that is meant to enhance technical and tactical skills of proffesional swimming.

Omari was also quick to add that there will be a Leadership course for swimming club managers that will focuss on effective management and leadership strategies within sports organizations with the event also including a Swimmers Clinic on Mental Performance aimed at equipping swimmers with psychological tools necessary to excel under pressure.

The Tanzania Swimming Coaches Association (TSCA) has also confirmed to host the ASCA International Course that is now attracting participants from across East Africa to mark a significant milestone in the region’s commitment to advancing swimming coaching standards and athlete performance.

The four-day event will be guided by the Director of International Clinics at ASCA, coach Chad Onken who will be the primary instructor, known for his expertise and success in developing elite swimmers he will lead a comprehensive curriculum designed to elevate coaching competencies across East Africa.
