New Welterweight boxing sensation Martin Achebi is ready for his first international fight outside Kenyan borders after landing an invitation to box against Mauritius born Lucas Finon at the Jin Fei, Eden Garden Culture in Port Louis, Mauritius on 22nd June this year for the third edition of the Boxing and Jammin international event.

Speaking on Monday from his training base at Advanced Fitness Center, South B in Nairobi, Achebi who made his proffesional debut last year winning all his five career bouts said that he is confident of going for his sixth victory, though it will be a four round non title fight.

” It’s a great opportunity for my career as I have never fought outside Kenya and this is a dream come true. The experience of fighting internationally and getting to know other boxers from across the continent and the world in general is a dream come true for any proffesional boxer, ” said the 23 year old who added that he is going to enjoy every single moment of his experience outside Kenya.

The Roy Kwavi and Jared Aseka trained pugilist is expecting a tough outing against homeboy Finon who has only two proffesional career bouts under his belt, winning one, tying the other and will be competing in his second Boxing and Jammin international event on home soil.

Another Kenyan Rayton Okwiri has also landed the same invitation as Achebi’s and will battle it out against Malawian Limbani Chikapa in the middle weight category.

The third edition of the Boxing and Jammin international event has a fight card of seven bouts to curtain raise the main fight between South Africa’s Ruann Visser and Malawian Lumbani Lano in the heavyweight category, a dream that Kenya’s Achebi now hopes will one day dawn on him as he is now slowly stepping up to borders outside Kenya as a curtain raiser, but one day he will be the main man to watch.
