EQUITY BANK BOOK CEREALS IN HANDBALL SUPER CUP MEN’S FINAL,AS KDF FACE OFF WITH FAMILIAR OPPONENTS NAIROBI WATER

National Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB) booked vibrant Equity Bank after sailing through to the final of the men’s Kenya Handball Federation Super Cup that is scheduled for this Sunday at the Ulinzi Complex,Lang’ata, Nairobi.

On their way to the final, Cereals defeated General Service Unit(GSU) 35-26, while Equity Bank held their nerves to see off holders Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 20-19 in the highly contested second semi-final that was played at Ulinzi Complex on Sunday evening.

In the match putting GSU against NCPB, Timothy Kirimi (13) and Nicholas Okore (4) emerged top scorers for National League champions Cereals, while Phillip Oscar (10),Elton Esara and Damas Wanyonyi each bagged five goals to emerge top scorers for the paramilitary side.
Maxwell Munene(4),Brian Wakhuka(3), and Rashid Inguela(3) top scored for bankers,while Kevin Imo (6) and Gideon Kiprotich (4) top-scored for the Forces.
In the women’s version, Nairobi Water will cross swords with perennial rivals KDF in the event that is played in round robin at the same venue.
KDF had overpowered Rangers 28-16, while Nairobi Water shrugged off stiff competition from Cereals to beat them 29-27.
Cecilia Katheu(8), Tracy Awino(5),Merina Andala(5) and Faith Mikhala(5) top scored for Nairobi Water, while Joan Akinyi(8) and Naomi Muyoki (4) emerged top scores for Cereals.
Caren Lutengeya and Sharon Mulei scored eight and five goals each for KDF, while Lavender Barbra, Esther Butali and Sheila Amoding scored four,three and three goals each in that order respectively for visiting Rangers.
