The team’s head coach Jerome Paarwater has retained several faces that were in action during the Continental Cup.
Bryceson Adaka will miss out on the tournament after sustaining an injury a few months ago.
The other exciting news is that Ntabeni Dukisa can finally represent the country. This is in accordance with the World Rugby amendment Regulation Eight which focuses on National Team eligibility.
The team is scheduled to have a residential camp in Kakamega ahead of their departure to Uganda where the first match will be played at the Kingspark Arena. Kenya will then host the return leg on Saturday, 9 November.
Simbas are the Elgon Cup defending champions. During the 2023 edition, Kubu scored 15 points to inspire Kenya to a 20-13 win over Uganda Cranes in the final played at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.
This was a revenge win for Kenya who had previously lost the Victoria Cup final to the Ugandans 21-20 a week ago in Kampala.
