Administration Police of Kenya (APK) men’s volleyball team has ringed changes in the teams technical bench ahead of the new Kenya Volleyball Federation National League season that is expected to serve off on October 31 away in Kamukunji grounds, Nyeri County.

Former player and assistant coach Richard Lagat has been elevated to a team manager role taking over from Milka Kimeu,

Julius Njuguna also a former player is the head coach taking over from Francis Nguma while Chief Inspector Timothy Emojong is the club’s overseer.

Team manager Lagat said that his objective was to ensure the club finish in the top eight at the end of regular season, and top four in the National League play-offs a development that he says will see the team participate in the Afriacan clubs championship for the first time.

Lagat said he has been with the team since his recruitment in 2013 and he therefore understands the teams setting, dynamic and culture.

“I believe the new technical bench bring on board fresh start and ideas.I have been here for a while and I therefore understand a thing or two. The head coach has also played for the club since 2014 and he understands what is needed and required of the club,” said Lagat.

“First is to ensure the team finish in the top four as that will be a stepping stone for the team to compete in the clubs championship. But above sll, my goal is to represent the team well in all aspects in the management,” the official added.

APK last season qualified for the Play-offs but failed to qualify for the semi-finals.
