James Waindi - President

James Waindi is a veteran editor with a rich work experience spanning over 15 years. Currently he is the Sports Editor at People Daily. He has also worked at Standard Newspaper and Kenya Times at different capacities. He is also a media trainer and communications consultant.  He has a Masters Degree in Digital Journalism from Aga Khan University, a First Class Degree in Communication and Political Science from University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Journalism from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

Eric Njiru - Vice President

Eric Njiru is a digital African Sport Journalist currently working as a a Journalist at Radio Africa Group (Presenter on Homeboyz Radio and contributor The Star Newspaper). Njiru has established himself as a 21st century modern day digital sports journalist covering his sport on social media as well as the traditional media. He has covered major tournaments like the FIFA World Cup, CAF Champions League Final, Africa Cup of Nations, Africa Rugby Sevens, WRC Safari Rally, Rugby Africa Gold Cup, the Safari 7s and regional Sports among others.

Moses Wakhisi - Secretary General

Moses Wakhisi is an accomplished sports journalist with an impressive track record in the field. His dedication, commitment, and passion for sports reporting have earned him numerous accolades and a reputation as a prominent figure in the industry.

Professional Background:
Moses Wakhisi embarked on his journalism journey as an intern reporter at The Standard Group Limited in 2013. His exceptional talents were quickly recognized, leading to his progression from a Correspondent to a Reporter and eventually to his current role as a Senior Sports Anchor and Reporter for KTN News. Moses also takes the helm of KTN Scoreline, a Weekend Sports Show, showcasing his prowess in sports coverage across different platforms.

Educational Achievements:
Moses holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication - Electronic Media from Daystar University. During his time at Daystar, he not only excelled academically but also took on leadership roles. He served as the President of Daystar University Students' Association (DUSA) from 2011 to 2012, demonstrating his commitment to both academics and extracurricular activities.

Passion for Sports:
Moses Wakhisi is not just an observer; he is an active participant in the sports world. He has a strong background in sports, having been the Lawn Tennis Captain during his time in campus. His athletic talents extend beyond tennis, with his prowess in soccer earning him recognition on the field. Mukami Wambora - Treasurer

Mukami Wambora is a multi-talented professional who seamlessly navigates the worlds of sports journalism, sports consulting, and law. As a sports journalist, her experience encompasses prestigious media houses in Kenya, such as Citizen TV, Radio Africa, and Capital FM, where she has showcased her skills as a sports anchor, reporter, and presenter.

Her coverage extends to renowned global sporting events, including two World Cups, Africa Cup of Nations, and Formula One. Mukami's versatility shines through her roles as a digital content creator and emcee, collaborating with the government and corporate entities to host memorable sporting activities.

With her profound passion for sports policy and background as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Mukami brings a unique perspective to her work driving positive change..

Samson Ateka - Organizing secretary

SAMSON ATEKA is a seasoned print journalist who has worked with virtually all newspapers in the country and served as the media liaison officer for the Softball Federation of Kenya, Kenya Motor Sport Federation and the Kenya Table Tennis Association.

He's one of the few Kenyan scribes who ventured into sports management ostensibly to whip up the enthusiasm of countless young personalities at grassroots level.

He has been in several influential sports committees including the Africa Table Tennis Association media commission and currently is the Organising Secretary of the Sports Journalists of Kenya and a Director of Attex Communications Limited.

He is the only SJAK Exco to have served in three successive terms from 2014; previously as acting treasurer and committee member. Ateka also served as the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) Safari Rally media relations officer from 2008 to 2017.

Besides his knack for writing, he is also a trained Softball Coach and alternate Team Manager of the Kenya National Table Tennis team.

Ateka joined the Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) in 2011 as one of the two officials elected as Ordinary Council Members (in charge of PR) alongside longstanding Kenya number one Anthony Mathenge (as players’ representative).

His byline has for a duration spanning two decades been synonymous with motorsport, boxing, volleyball, rugby and softball reporting, and by extension, the fabled Safari Rally, but perhaps few are aware of the enormous and selfless contribution he has made to the sport of table tennis.

Amiably referred to as 'Attex" in motorsport and "TM' in Table Tennis circles, Ateka has practiced journalism in Kenya for over 25 years! Granted, he is a man who wears many hats!.

He jump-started his journalism career with the now defunct Kenya Times newspaper in 1998, before he joined the Standard Group as a young sports reporter later in the same year. In 2008, Ateka moved on to the Star Newspaper where he currently works a sports reporter.

He has served as Team Manager of the Kenya national table tennis team in back to back Olympic Qualifiers held in Doha, Qatar 2002, Khartoum, Sudan 2016 and most recently Tunis, Tunisia in 2020.

The Khartoum and Tunis Qualifiers also doubled up as ITTF Africa Top 16 Cup qualifiers. Ateka kickstarted a career in sports management in 2003 when Softball Federation of Kenya (SFK) offered him the opportunity to serve as their Public Relations Officer and ExCo.

He also managed the Kenya team to the 2014 50th Anniversary Celebrations in Zanzibar where Team Kenya entered several disciplines and the 2017 ITTF Eastern Africa Region Championship in Port Louis, Mauritius

KTTA also offered him the opportunity to coordinate the ITTF Africa Southern Hopes Week and Challenge at Nairobi Goan Institute where then Kitale Hilltop Preparatory School Class 6 pupil Ivy Nakhatama Makokha Wabomba (born July 25, 2005) emerged the winner after she beat Alisa Bhonjani of Tanzania in a pulsating final.

Charity Wanja- Executive Member

Hi there my name is Charity Wanja a sports and a science reporter, formerly at Royal Media Services attached to Radio Citizen and Muuga Fm and Science Africa. I was first runners up in sports reporting during the 6th Annual Journalism Excellence Award (AJEA) 2017.

I have vast knowledge in sports and have covered them both locally and internationally. Besides radio reporting I generated content Citizen TV digital platform, kindly find the link to my work https://citizentv.co.ke/author/charitywanja/.
Besides reporting I also do commentary for athletics, flash quotes and communication consultations in science journalism and sports.

Currently I serve at the Sport Journalist Association of Kenya as an Executive member. Some Events- World U-18 , World U-20 Kasarani, Kenya, Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018, Africa Table Tennis Championship 2016 and 202 , Africa Deaflympics Athletics, WRC Safari Rally among many others.

Geoffrey Mwamburi - Executive Member

Geoffrey Mwamburi Mwaviswa alias "Beki wa Kupanda na Kushuka" is a multi-media journalist who boasts an experience of over 13 years in radio, digital and TV. He is currently a sports journalist at Radio Citizen FM under the Royal Media Services- one of the biggest media organization in Kenya. He has previously worked at Sifa FM and Bahari FM.

He is a versatile broadcaster with fluency in both Swahili and English and with skills ranging but not limited to reporting, editing, broadcasting, commentating, emceeing events. He also co-hosts a five-hour sports premier show known as ‘Michezo na Burudani’ every Saturday at Radio Citizen FM.

He has covered major events both local and international including; the 2017 Sportpesa Cup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the 2018 AWCON in Accra, Ghana, and the inaugural CAF Women's Champions League in Cairo, Egypt in 2021.

Abulla Ahmed

Abulla Ahmed is a Kenyan Sports Journalist currently working as a Sports Editor at K24TV in Nairobi. He Began his career in 2014 at KBC TV then moved to KTN News in 2015, he later Joined Switch TV in 2018 before joining K24TV in 2020. Abulla is now an excecutive member at SJAK. He holds a Diploma in Journalism from The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication

Agnes Makhandia

Agnes Makhandia is a Kenyan Sports Journalist currently working with Nation Media Group (NMG) as a writer.She began her career in 2013 at the Radio Africa Group(RAG) contributing to the newspaper section - The Star. In January,2019 she was named the Sports Journalist of the Month at Radio Africa Group monthly award. In November, 2019, she moved to NMG, as a writer with The Daily Nation newspaper. She serves as a member of the Media Commission in the Kenya Volleyball Federation. Agnes holds a Degree in Journalism and Communication from the St Paul's University, Nairobi.
